While it’s challenging to completely avoid burrs during the production process, effective management and removal are crucial. At ZC Precision, we recently tackled a project involving the machining of a motor component made from S45C steel. This component, with dimensions φ190*50mm, demanded a high level of precision and attention to detail.
Project Overview:
- Material: S45C
- Dimensions: φ190*50mm
- Key Specification: Perpendicularity (inner diameter & end surface) of 0.03mm
- Post-Machining Focus: Careful deburring

Challenge:
The design included milled grooves that are prone to burr formation. This required meticulous deburring to ensure the component met the required specifications.
While burrs can’t be entirely eliminated during machining, careful deburring is essential to ensure smooth operation and longevity of the parts. This process is vital for the reliability of motor components.
We’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. How do you manage burr formation in your machining projects? What techniques or tools do you find most effective in ensuring a high-quality finish?
