Hello, this is Grace. Do you feel headache when you heard the “lead time”. The delay is very common phenomenon in our daily work, and it may caused so many trouble for the whole project. The lead time delay, then the shipping date delay, then whole project on your side delay. You keep push the suppliers, and your team keep push you.
Most of time, the suppliers even don’t tell you the delay till the shipping date is quite close.You have no time to make the plan B.
How could I avoid the delay or predict the delay in my daily work.
my secret is “Order Follow Up Sheet“
When I get the order from our clients, I will check with our production manager, and make the plan finished date for each procedure which the parts involved in ( such as milling, turning,surface plating ect).
I go to workshop everyday, or few times per day. So I can follow the whole production.
It is workable too if you can not go to workshop.
The only thing you need to do is send the template to your supplier, and let them fulfill the sheet, and update it each week. Then the whole production will be quite clean. From the “order follow sheet”, you know how is everything going, and even predict the delay .
