Hello guys, today I am going to share the surface status you might be meet during placing order in CNC machining area.
Do you know how to chose the most suitable surface status, or is the supplier understanding what you need for the parts looking? I made a simple illustration about all the surface during machining.
Here we go.
1. Turning surface.
Mostly turning surface looks very consistently, and bright. In good looking.
2. Milling surface.
Apparently we can see much more process traces in the surface. Shown as below:
The direct of traces show how was the milling cutter went through the whole surface.
3. Grinding surface.
Some items need very fine flatness , or need good looking after milling, then we need fix the surface by grinding.
4. Polish surface.
For some item which has special surface requirements.
-Mirror polish: As the name, the surface looks like mirror after polish.
-Brush:
– Hand polish : just to move the milling traces or scratches. Making the traces consistently.
5. Welding surface:
-Welding surface
-Machining after welding
Different surface requirements will make the cost different. Choosing the most suitable one for yours.
